Position Summary:
The Warehouse Dock Coordinator Lead serves as a floating resource across three local warehouse facilities, supporting inventory accuracy, FEFO (First Expired, First Out) compliance, and administrative coordination. This role is responsible for managing documentation, conducting inventory research, and facilitating the movement and tracking of materials between sites. The Dock Lead collaborates with warehouse teams, inventory analysts, and quality assurance personnel to ensure consistent standards and efficient operations across all locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse / Dock Operations & Material Coordination:
- Oversee warehouse / dock operations, ensuring compliance with safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper handling and documentation of materials; assist with operational oversight when needed.
- Process inbound and outbound shipments using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/SAP).
- Maintain accurate documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Certificates of Destruction (COD), shipping manifests, and transfer records.
- Ensure proper stock rotation following FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles.
Inventory & Quality Control:
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and trends across multiple warehouse locations.
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory manager to improve data accuracy and reporting.
- Validate the proper storage (FEFO), stacking, and handling of finished goods to prevent damage.
- Support identification and documentation of damaged or expired goods across sites; ensure proper reporting and follow-up.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Support standardization of FEFO rotation and documentation procedures.
- Support root cause analysis for inventory variances and develop corrective actions.
Communication & Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with supervisors, shipping clerks, inventory analysts, and warehouse staff at all three facilities. May have some customer interaction.
- Enable effective communication between shifts to ensure operational continuity.
- Train and mentor new team members on dock, warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Respond in a timely and prudent manner to internal and external communications.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies, ensuring that all employees follow proper procedures.
- Monitor dock operations for potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials comply with company and regulatory standards.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and WMS/SAP.
- Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Forklift certification required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- This role requires standing, walking, lifting, and handling warehouse materials.
The work environment includes exposure to warehouse conditions such as temperature fluctuations, noise, and moving equipment.
