POSITION: Supply Chain Warehouse Manager

LOCATION: Mount Carmel, IL

REPORTS TO: Director of Supply Chain

JOB SUMMARY

A Supply Chain Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations to ensure efficient and effective receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. They are responsible for managing inventory, optimizing warehouse space, implementing safety procedures, and leading a team of warehouse staff. This role also involves analyzing data to improve productivity and reduce costs, as well as collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders to maintain a smooth supply chain.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage daily warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, and production support, ensuring efficiency and productivity.


Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of warehousing, including lean management principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.


Lead and mentor a team of warehouse staff, providing training, support, and performance evaluations, fostering a high-performing and positive team culture.


Coordinate with inbound logistics providers and manage fleet transportation.


Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the warehouse environment, adhering to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.


Create and monitor key performance metrics, including productivity, quality, safety, and inventory accuracy, and identify areas for improvement.


Participate in financial planning and preparing the annual budget, tracking expenditures and variances and reporting on them.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, though experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.


5+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse and inventory management, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.


Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, fostering a positive work environment, and demonstrating strong team-building skills.


Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and Microsoft Office Suite.


Strong knowledge of inventory management practices, including cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and optimization strategies. Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.


Commitment to safety and ensuring compliance with all regulations.


Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and potentially a forklift certification.
