As our VP Accounting, you’ll lead our accounting function, ensure compliance, and drive financial excellence across the organization. You’ll be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This leader will be instrumental in developing scalable accounting infrastructure that supports Vessel’s growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to provide strategic insights into financial performance
  • Implementation and development of extensive construction cost coding to create accurate project cost reporting.
  • Oversight of construction field reporting and job costing systems 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and SOX regulations.
  • Manage cash flow and optimize cash management strategies.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy.
  • Lead budgeting processes and forecasting efforts to support financial planning.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Utilize construction accounting software for efficient financial management.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and financial concepts.


  • Who You Are
  • Strong knowledge of corporate real estate or construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SOX compliance, IFRS standards, and GAAP regulations.
  • Experience with Netsuite preferred.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • A builder and operator with an entrepreneurial mindset, ideally with experience in startups, venture creation, or growth-stage environments.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and rapid change—while keeping execution crisp and outcomes measurable.
  • Energized by the idea of helping reinvent how homes are built, delivered, and lived in.
