Position Overview

Under immediate supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting and Analytics, the Financial Reporting Analyst performs financial reporting functions including responsibilities supporting Five Star Bancorp’s SEC filings, development of financial data queries, improvements to Excel-driven processes across the organization, and special projects. The role requires the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, exercise attention to detail, and perform consistently accurate financial reporting and analysis. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in the earnings and SEC filing processes including, but not limited to: Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and filings related to the Proxy and Section 16
  • Assist with coordination of scheduling of earnings releases and SEC filings, annual shareholder meetings, and other required shareholder communications
  • Maintain an awareness of the Company’s products, services, and the related regulatory environment in order to assist in compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements and disclosures
  • Assist with analyzing the impact of transactions on financials statements, and the relationship between financial statements, for accurate incorporate in SEC disclosures
  • Understand the SEC reporting process and timeline
  • Collaborate with various departments and managers regarding reporting processes and information required for proper and timely disclosures
  • Support initiatives targeted at financial process improvement and the implementation of changes to achieve efficiencies and the Company’s objectives in financial reporting and analytics
  • Assist with maintenance of the Company’s financial system, processes, and reporting tools
  • Assist with development and maintenance of queries and reports generated within various software applications
  • Complete all assignments with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Uphold the ability to maintain confidential information
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

The Financial Reporting Analyst role has no supervisory responsibilities.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and has the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn new computer applications
  • Knowledge of accounting basics
  • Dependability
