Hybrid Hardware Specialist chez EditShare

EditShare is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineering Specialist to report directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Global Service Assurance. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in developing EditShare’s Hardware roadmap. You will also be responsible for recommending and bringing to market some of the most advanced storage solutions available to meet the growing needs of the media and entertainment market. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to design and create groundbreaking hardware offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute benchmark, load, stress, and endurance tests.
• Gather supporting data such as CPU Utilization, Memory usage, Network usage, Disk usage to verify the performance of the applications.
• Generate performance graphs, session reports and other related documentation required for validation and analysis.
• Constructing, troubleshooting and testing prototyping systems, which include both Hardware and Software aspects; Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
• Daily communication primarily with colleagues within functional area and senior members of the department and may have basic dealings with external clients or customers
• Work/collaborate cross functionally with team members, internal and external stakeholder organizations to maintain a reliable testing environment.
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and/or workflows.
• Maintain and repair technological equipment or peripheral devices
• Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components
• Assist with Trade Show prep and logistics

Essential Requirements

• 3-5 years related experience
• Demonstrated professional communication skills and capable of representing the organization
• Builds relationships based on trust, Team player
• Basic skills with configuration and monitoring of Linux operating systems; Windows, and OSX a plus  
• Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality  
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
• A firm understanding or storage architectures and solutions
• Scripting; bash (python a plus)
• An Advanced understanding of Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
• A working understanding of Linux Operating Systems, OSX and Windows a plus; 
• A working understanding of Computer Networking, Familiarity with common networking terms.
• Can create/manage communication with MS Office products or similar tools
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
