Position Description:
Coordinates the design and architects new solutions for the platform. Collaborates with stakeholders to define technical strategies and plan the strategic roadmaps for the enterprise. Quality Assurance: Oversee code reviews, testing, debugging processes. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. Mentors junior team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, testing, and deploying Machine Learning (ML) solutions to an enterprise production environment (and implementing Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) applications or systems) using Python, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Neo4J in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) year of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, testing, and deploying Machine Learning (ML) solutions to an enterprise production environment (and implementing Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) applications or systems) using Python, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Neo4J in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing and maintaining REST application services using Python, JavaScript languages (NodeJS and View), and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, and uDeploy); improving code quality and validating business requirements by following Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies using Unit and End-to-End (E2E) testing techniques (locust, pytest, mocks, jest, and rush-hour); and validating code quality and application security using Veracode and Sonar.
- DE developing and maintaining internal and customer-facing Web applications using TypeScript, Webpack, NodeJS, Vue, and Python; implementing complex UI design challenges using AWS cloud and Kubernetes; designing wireframes to illustrate the solution for the application using draw.io; implementing GitOps for application configuration management using Git, Jenkins, and uDeploy; and validating code quality and application security using Veracode and Sonar.
- DE performing business and system analysis throughout the full Software and Product Development Lifecycle (SDLC/PDLC) according to Agile and Scrum methodologies (Kanban) in financial services environment.
- DE completing the design and architecture process to create logic, state, and sequence diagrams using draw.io; and following REST standards and architecture to build server API contracts using Swagger and the OpenAPI 3 standard (for creating RESTful contracts) in financial services environment.
