About the Nurse Aide Trainee Program:
The program runs three weeks, Monday through Friday, generally 7:00am–3:00pm (hours may vary)
Weeks 1 & 2: Classroom instruction
Week 3: Clinical hands-on training alongside licensed clinicians
Upon successful completion, you’ll be certified as a CNA — your pay and status will be upgraded accordingly
Elderwood covers your CNA certification exam fees and required onboarding (e.g., PPD test, physical exam)
Until training begins, you’ll be assigned a trainee shift working under supervision to gain experience

Responsibilities
CNA Training Track Responsibilities:
Assist with resident transport to dining, activities, therapy, and treatment areas
Make unoccupied beds and keep resident rooms tidy
Help with dining services: passing trays, opening containers, and distributing supplemental nourishment
Support informal activities on the nursing unit when time permits
Provide fresh water to residents as directed
Clean resident equipment and maintain neat common areas
- Observe and report any unusual incidents or resident needs to therapists or nurses

Qualifications
CNA Training Track Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Employment Certificate/Permit required for ages 16-17
- No history of resident abuse, mistreatment, or property misappropriation
- Genuine interest in caregiving and a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
