Job Description:
Vernon ISD is seeking a highly organized and professional individual to serve as the secretary at McCord Elementary. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the campus principal and staff, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the front office and campus activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors

• Maintain student records and attendance reports

• Manage phone calls, emails, and front desk inquiries

• Handle daily correspondence and prepare reports as needed

• Support campus administrators with scheduling, filing, and communication

• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer service

• Assist with coordination of meetings, events, and campus communications

• Perform other duties as assigned by the campus principal

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail

• School office or clerical experience preferred

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, per school calendar
