How You Will Make an Impact:

Key Responsibilities of the Grade 12 Maintenance Electrician include; but are not limited to the following:

  • Work in a safe manner to continuously improve the site safety culture and resulting performance 
  • Maintain, install, test and service SI Group’s assets 
  • Serve as a key troubleshooter of plant equipment. Diagnose malfunctions and document repairs
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout and other energy isolation activities as appropriate
  • Provide accurate and timely communications to supervisors and colleagues on job status, issues
  • Maintains appropriate equipment records and documents utilizing the CMMS as directed.
  • Follow the rules for coverage for days off, including Sick/Personal, and vacation.
  • Utilize Outlook / Pulse / Maintenance Connection / SAP-PM for information and communication regarding assigned job duties 
  • Achieve acceptable housekeeping of all work areas
  • Proper care and safeguarding of SI Group equipment , tools and information
  • Understand and abides by all SI GROUP policies, including the Global Code of Conduct
  • Performs all work in a safe manner.
    • Participates in permitting and risk assessments
  • Practice Responsible Care 14001 through active participation in MOC’, PHA’s and PSM’s 
  • Report all injuries, illnesses, spills, and other incidents per instructions, SOP’s and policies.
  • Ensuring all SOP’s and assigned CBT’s (Computer Based Training’s) are completed on time
  • Participate in all Quality, Safety, Environmental, Productivity, or Health initiatives / audits  
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor or Work Leader
  • Management reserves the right to modify / assign / remove responsibilities as needed

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Journeyman electrical experience
  • Pass a qualifying written electrical exam and practical demonstration of journeyman electrician skill set
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of power / hand tools , test equipment, material handling 
  • Valid NYS driver’s license 
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Capability to independently read and understand schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Exhibit the ability to safely service, test and repair electrical systems and components 
  • Show functional knowledge of testing/repair practices and electrical construction methods
  • Working knowledge of NEC & NFPA70E standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Literacy 
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.

 

Pay Rate: from $30.67/hr
