FT X-Ray Technologist - Fayetteville

Position Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent patient care skills. The technologist ensures high-quality images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic procedures.

  • Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Position patients correctly and ensure proper exposure techniques to minimize radiation.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation protection standards.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.

  • Assist with patient transfers and ensure proper immobilization when necessary.

  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis.

  • Maintain and clean imaging equipment regularly; report any malfunctions.

  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Stay current with continuing education and advancements in radiologic technology.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.

  • Valid state license (if applicable).

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, but new graduates may be considered.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    • Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
    • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
    • Maintains communication and cooperation with radiologists and other ancillary departments regarding changes in protocol, scheduling of procedures, exams performed and patient flow.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, colleagues and referring offices.
    • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

 

Preferred Experience:

Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience.

Multi-modality is a plus. Opportunity to learn Mammography.

 

Required Education/Certification:

    • High School Diploma/GED required.
    • Licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
    • Current ARRT/ Radiologic Technologist License
