MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – PURCHASE (ME-P)
Role purpose:
ITP Aero UK are recruiting for Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Hucknall - UK on a full-time permanent basis, 37 hours per week.
Your main responsibilities / What you will do:
- Develop, implement, validate, maintain and control Methods of Manufacture with our supply chain
- Promote a culture of Zero Defects by working with the supplier to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. You will coach and support suppliers to ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies
- Support resolution of technical issues related to the production method with the application and use of appropriate problem-solving tools
- Identify, develop and validate opportunities for new and improved manufacturing processes including promoting digital tools and new technologies
Who we are looking for:
Essential Criteria
- Professional qualified Engineer (UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent)
- Degree, HNC level education or suitable experience in an engineering / manufacturing discipline
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels
- Has general understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business.
- Has general awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, Teamcentre, etc.) relevant to the business.
- Has good understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role in the product lifecycle.
- Has good communications skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Drawing interpretation across multiple OEM’s and customers
- English language skills
Desirable criteria
- A background in aerospace engineering.
- Has a background in one of the following manufacturing disciplines, Fabrication, Machining, Forging, Castings, Thermoplastic, Carbon Fibre
- Understanding of Manufacturing Special Processes.
- Sound understanding of problem solving techniques such as DMAIC principles.

What training will you receive to be able to carry out the role?
You will work alongside a strategic multidisciplinary team for the company, and you will be able to influence the strategic decision making for procurement of aerospace components.
You will be trained in:
- AS9100 – Quality Management System – Requirements for aviation, space, and defence organisations
- AS9102 – Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirements
- AS13000 – Quality management Systems Requirements for Aero Engine Design and Production Organisations
- PPAP – Production Part Approval Process
- Internal and potentially external audit training
- AS13004 – Defect prevention quality tools to Support APQP & PPAP
Who will I work with?
You will work at ITP Aero from its site in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire under the guidance of professionals with extensive experience in the sector in a leading company in aeronautical engines and components that ranks among the top companies in the global aeronautical industry.
The selected person will join an experienced and multidisciplinary team, working on important long-term projects for the civil/defence and industrial aviation industry in the Procurement Team.
The work is extremely cross functional with professionals with experience in various areas of industrial processes, such as Process Engineers, CNC Programmers, CMM inspection, and Technologists in special joining processes, heat treatments, and non-destructive testing, as well as quality engineers, industrial development engineers, production managers, and project managers.
