The Senior Accountant – Accounts Payable will oversee and manage all accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, compliance with policies, and supporting financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health of the organization and works closely with internal teams and external vendors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, review, and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and process payments, including electronic payments and check runs.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
  • Collaborate with other accounting staff and departments to improve processes and ensure compliance.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite for accounting and reporting functions.
  • Provide support for other accounting functions as needed, including accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
     

Requirements

 Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with strong accounts payable knowledge.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in or with an audit firm is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access.
  • Healthcare industry or FQHC experience preferred but not required.
