Description
The Senior Accountant – Accounts Payable will oversee and manage all accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, compliance with policies, and supporting financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health of the organization and works closely with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, review, and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Prepare and process payments, including electronic payments and check runs.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Collaborate with other accounting staff and departments to improve processes and ensure compliance.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite for accounting and reporting functions.
- Provide support for other accounting functions as needed, including accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Assist with other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with strong accounts payable knowledge.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or with an audit firm is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access.
- Healthcare industry or FQHC experience preferred but not required.
