Middle School Co-Ed Swim Coach

Monroe Middle School

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience in swimming is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach fundamental skills, develop strategies, and lead a competitive team.
• Proven organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and collaborate with assistant coaches.
• Commitment to promoting good sportsmanship and modeling appropriate behavior for athletes, staff, and the school community.
• Knowledge of and willingness to enforce all MHSAA rules and regulations, as well as Monroe Public Schools’ athletic policies and student code of conduct.
• Dedication to fostering academic success and setting high expectations for student-athletes both in and out of the pool.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and community members.
• Must meet all MHSAA and district coaching certification requirements (including CPR/First Aid and Concussion training).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with middle school-aged athletes.
• Ability to organize and conduct practices and meets in alignment with MHSAA guidelines.
• Strong communication and motivational skills to support the development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and oversee practices, swim meets, and team activities.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Promote a positive team culture centered on respect, effort, integrity, and growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student participation and meet eligibility requirements.
• Coordinate with the athletic director, parents, and other school staff as needed.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
