Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and validate diagnostic test software for ECU systems and components across domains such as Autonomous Driving, Infotainment, Body & Comfort, and Powertrain Systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development (R&D), Production, and Aftersales to align test software solutions
• Design and implement test and commissioning software as per production test requirements
• Validate diagnostic test modules on both HIL benches and actual vehicles
• Perform root cause analysis on validation defects and drive resolution in collaboration with all stakeholders
• Support resolution of production issues related to diagnostic test module implementation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, assisting in system understanding and issue resolution
• Ensure code quality and adherence to best practices through peer reviews, testing, and continuous improvements
• Promote innovation and explore new technologies to improve development processes and outcomes
• Work closely with global teams and contribute to solving technical challenges through collaborative problem-solving
• Participate in occasional onsite travel to Germany based on project demands
Required Skills and Experience:
• 8–11 years of relevant experience in automotive software development, especially in vehicle diagnostics
• Proficiency in tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and programming languages like C/C++ and Python
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic protocols including UDS (ISO14229), OBD, and standards related to vehicle diagnostics
• Hands-on experience with ECU, CAN/Ethernet topology, HIL testing, and hybrid/EV vehicle systems
• Understanding of EE architecture and various communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and Flexray
• Experience working with vehicle systems including Powertrain, Climate Control, Driver Assistance, and Display
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical thinking, adaptability, and a proactive mindset
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EI), or a related field
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
• Prior experience with vehicle-level testing, plant support, and production issue resolution
• Exposure to HIL-based testing and tools
• Experience working with global stakeholders and international projects, especially in collaboration with Daimler/Mercedes-Benz teams
• Familiarity with Daimler systems and development frameworks
