Purpose of the Role

As a Paraplanner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Financial Planning Consultants by delivering high-quality technical support and maintaining strong relationships with clients. You’ll be responsible for preparing professional reports, conducting research, and ensuring our advice and documentation meet regulatory standards. This is a dynamic role that combines technical expertise, client interaction, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver client reports and annual reviews to a professional standard.
  • Implement consultant requests efficiently and accurately.
  • Gather and record client data using Intelligent Office.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and third parties, both in person and remotely.
  • Collaborate closely with administrative support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload and support the wider Paraplanning team.
  • Work with the Head of Paraplanning to ensure team efficiency and provide cover when needed.
  • Maintain and improve technical support processes and documentation.
  • Conduct product-based research to support financial planning recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal policies, including AML requirements.
  • Support the collection and reporting of management information (MI).
  • Promote a culture of diligence, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development and maintain appropriate status within the T&C regime.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their development.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong technical knowledge across all areas of financial planning.
  • Proficient in financial planning tools and modelling software (e.g., Voyant).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build client trust and confidence.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent tertiary education preferred.
  • Minimum CII Level 4 qualified or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Paraplanning, ideally supporting High Net Worth clients.
