Responsibilities
- work with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff. direct and schedule the activities of all parts department team members.
- Monitor Parts Department Team member payroll.
- handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines.
- Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.
- Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts.
- Input inventory control information.
- Monitor for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local taxes and fees.
- Assist in answering dealership phones with customers.
- Ensure that all purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made. Monitor the percentage markup on parts obtained locally.
- ensure that all parts are properly tagged to ensure that the dealership is recovering full credit from the factory. Assist in the collection of past - due accounts.
- other duties as assigned by the Parts & Service Director.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- 2+ years of parts manager experience preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Tech savvy and comfortable with computers
- Previous experience in an automotive parts department required
- Great work ethic and ability to work on a team
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Current and valid driver's license
