Responsibilities

  • work with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff. direct and schedule the activities of all parts department team members.
  • Monitor Parts Department Team member payroll.
  • handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts.
  • Input inventory control information.
  • Monitor for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local taxes and fees.
  • Assist in answering dealership phones with customers.
  • Ensure that all purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made. Monitor the percentage markup on parts obtained locally.
  • ensure that all parts are properly tagged to ensure that the dealership is recovering full credit from the factory. Assist in the collection of past - due accounts.
  • other duties as assigned by the Parts & Service Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • 2+ years of parts manager experience preferred 
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Tech savvy and comfortable with computers
  • Previous experience in an automotive parts department required 
  • Great work ethic and ability to work on a team
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Current and valid driver's license
