About the Position:

The Bookkeeper (Hybrid from Cape Town) is responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager with the accurate recording, reconciliation, and maintenance of company financial accounts. This role ensures financial account data is up-to-date and supports the business in making informed decisions based on accurate up to date financial account information. The position reports to the ‘Accounting Manager’. 


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with financial account reconciliation of all financial accounts across the United Kingdom, France and United Arab Emirates markets;
  • Assisting the Accounting Manager with month-end financial closing procedures; 
  • Reconciliation of ‘booking income received’ vs. ‘booking platform payouts; 
  • Responding to Landlord communication and answer their financial queries
  • General account administration of Landlord statements 


Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12); 
  • Obtained an accredited ICB (International Certifications for Business) qualification in ‘Bookkeeping’ or alternatively a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Accounting’;
  • 1 to 2 years of general bookkeeping experience;
  • 1 to 2 years work experience with Account Reconciliation, VAT, Cost Control, Profit & loss, Control Accounts, Creditors & Debtors;
  • Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Xero Accounting Software);
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets;
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Working Days/ Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00am to 6:00pm (South African Time)
  • This is a full time, ‘HYBRID’ position, operating from Cape Town, South Africa
