Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Inpatient Orders Analyst to support Correctional Health Services (CHS) during the implementation of the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Justice-Involved (JI) initiative. This is a critical role in supporting Inpatient Orders workflows, configuration, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Scope of Work
Act as a lead Inpatient Orders Analyst for CHS within the Health IT team.
Participate in weekly design team and operational meetings.
Build and maintain orders, order sets, order rules, and inpatient configuration with a focus on CHS requests and CalAIM requirements.
Take ownership of requests and incident work related to CalAIM reporting and functionality.
Facilitate and support CHS/Health IT meetings related to EHR improvements.
Represent the Orders team in testing and implementation of new Epic functionality and upgrades.
Provide daytime weekday support during County Health IT core hours.
Responsibilities
Perform Epic Orders build and configuration tasks.
Troubleshoot inpatient and regulatory-related incidents, especially those affecting CHS workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure CHS workflows, reporting, and attestation meet CalAIM JI standards.
Serve as a liaison between CHS stakeholders and Health IT teams to resolve configuration or reporting issues.
Support interface design and ensure system components meet user needs.
Participate in testing, upgrades, new release evaluations, and implementation activities.
Required Qualifications
Epic Orders Certification (Current and Active)
2–10 years of experience with Epic Inpatient modules, especially Orders.
Direct Tier 2 build support experience for physicians and nursing workflows.
Experience in full lifecycle Epic application implementations.
Strong knowledge of Service and Change Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with CalAIM JI and related regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting Correctional Health Services or similar specialized divisions.
Ability to lead and facilitate technical and operational meetings.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
In-depth understanding of Epic software applications and EHR ecosystems.
Proven ability to design, evaluate, implement, and enhance healthcare system processes and configurations.
Skilled in troubleshooting, interface support, user engagement, and system maintenance.
Ability to analyze data and recommend system enhancements for better integration and performance.
