Summary:
Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) G9, Directorate of Prevention, Resilience, and Readiness (DPRR) integrates and synchronizes multiple efforts and programs to guide the Army's objective to build and sustain personal readiness and reduce harmful behaviors.
This position will be responsible for working with complex data related to topics such as suicide, substance misuse, mental health, risk reduction, financial issues, sexual assault, interpersonal violence, etc.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Work collaboratively as a team to integrate, synthesize, analyze, and validate data and information from multiple sources.
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and apply data analytics tools and methods to streamline reporting.
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists leaders with decision-making, policy formulation, or other programmatic functions.
- Develop reports via data collection across multiple data source types (internal and external) and stakeholders. Development may require testing and debugging templates and established database processes.
- Ensure integrity of data analysis results by ensuring the application of appropriate methodologies, including evidence of traceability/reproducibility.
- Design, develop, and advocate for new analytic capabilities and technical improvements consistent with evolving requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data analysis and management techniques, providing support to colleagues and government clients.
- Prepare reports using Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and/or Word.
- Review and improve data and analytics processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Access databases and VBA coding.
- Proficient understanding of MS Office Excel and PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI, or other big-data analytic techniques (e.g., Python or R) for structured and unstructured data.
- Working knowledge of Army structure and units.
- Practical mathematical, statistical, and/or other quantitative abilities.
- Problem solving, organization, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong ability to communicate results, findings, issues, and insights with both internal and external points of contact, e.g., Military and/or civilian.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a master’s degree in a related field with 7 years of related experience.
- Must have prior experience in database management.
- Must be able to obtain a T1 Public Trust clearance.
- Must be a US citizen, proof of citizenship is required upon hire.
- This position requires a NACI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with the Army, other military Branches, and/or Department of Defense. Our ideal candidate would have previous exposure to the most senior levels of the military such as the HQDA, MACOMS, or Army Service Component Commands.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 annually.
