Job DescriptionSenior Media Officer.Salary: c£37,000 per annum.Location: Remote.Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week.Benefits:

A Bit About The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Action for Children as a Senior Media Officer. You will have responsibility for planning and delivering news and media relations activities across the UK to highlight the work of Action for Children and issues relating to vulnerable children, young people and families.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, proactive & enthusiastic Senior Media Officer to join the team at Action for Children.How you'll help to create brighter futures, by:
  • Planning and delivering national, regional and trade proactive and reactive news and media relations activity.
  • Demonstrating your excellent news judgement and developing key relationships to engage with national, regional and trade media as required.
  • Researching and writing media releases, statements and articles as appropriate for national, regional trade media outlets.
  • Assisting in writing briefings and Q&As and preparing spokespeople for media interviews.
  • Working closely with the influencing team to disseminate complex policy findings to a news audience in an accessible and engaging way.
Let's talk about you
  • Experience of media relations as a journalist or within a press, PR or communications office.
  • Experience of raising the profile of an organisation through media and PR activity and campaigns.
  • Experience of working with broadcast, print and online media.
  • First-class verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to participate in the out of hours rota which runs 365 days a year, 24/7.
  • Must be policy focussed and able to deal with complex data.
