Reporting into the Field Service Team Leader - WA / SA / NT, the new Field Service Engineer (“FSE”) will be based in Perth, WA, whilst also supporting client needs in SA and NT on an intermittent basis. The FSE will perform safety and performance testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of Draeger medical devices located predominantly at customer sites or within the workshop environment to meet customer and service agreement requirements, as well as:

  • Timely and effective response to break service requests;
  • Preventative maintenance as per manufacturers testing and part replacement schedule;
  • Installation of new devices and upgrades including basic operating instruction and orientation;
  • Field corrective actions as required to remove product defects and reduce risk to patient health and safety;
  • Customer support for region by ensuring that customer concerns and issues are addressed efficiently and to the satisfaction of the customer;
  • Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales team;
  • Technical support and advice to sales and marketing teams to increase sales;
  • Identify and report quality issues from the field to management and internal departments;
  • Travel regularly to client sites in Perth metro, wider WA, and interstate as required to SA and NT;
  • Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and;
  • Always ensure a safety-first approach.

The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Biomedical, Electronics, Mechanical, and/or Mechatronics), or a related field;
  • Candidates with an electrical license with device repair experience are encouraged to also apply;
  • Exposure to mechanical and mechatronic biomedical workplace infrastructure is highly desirable;
  • 2+ years’ proven experience in similar field service work pertaining to biomedical devices;
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn technical product information and service skills;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications and Windows Operating Systems
  • Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
  • Exemplary understanding of compliance rules, with a proactive mindset and the ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards;
  • Excellent customer focus, stakeholder management, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organisational, task management skills, and;
  • Willingness to travel regularly to metro, regional, and interstate.
