Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a premier cybersecurity organization. The Site Reliability Engineer will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems running on Kubernetes.
Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer include:
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of production systems running on Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Design and implement microservices architecture.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure using scripting and automation tools.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud autoscaling strategies.
- Manage networking security and secret-management tools (e.g., Vault, AWS SSM).
- Utilize observability tooling such as Prometheus, Open Telemetry, distributed tracing, and SIEM (e.g., Splunk).
- Manage Helm charts and create custom charts as needed.
Qualifications for the Site Reliability Engineer include:
- 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience working alongside a production system running on Kubernetes.
- Experience in cloud engineering, preferably with AWS and Azure.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- Experience with operating and/or building microservices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Go) and software engineering concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud, and microservice autoscaling.
- Experience with networking security and secret-management tools (e.g., Vault, AWS SSM).
- Proficiency with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Open Telemetry, distributed tracing, and SIEM (e.g., Splunk).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
Compensation for the Site Reliability Engineer includes:
- Salary: $165,000 - $175,000 + Bonus
