Job DescriptionOracle Labs is a research and development group within Oracle. Our mission is to identify, explore, and transfer new technologies that have the potential to substantially advance Oracle’s business so as to bring greater benefit and value to our customers.An internship at Oracle Labs gives you the opportunity to be exposed to technology areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud native applications development. You will gain new knowledge in one or more of these areas as well as applying software engineering skills and techniques, and working alongside engineers and researchers at Oracle Labs.Interns can expect to work on the development of an enterprise class service, and be part of a global team working closely with team members coming from diverse backgrounds and geographies.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do

• Work with a cross-functional group of developers spanning multiple geographies to enhance existing tools to detect misconfigurations in cloud infrastructure
• Translate rules for cloud-security policy well-formedness into an existing Oracle product
• Design, implement and test software prototypes as required as part of the translation process
• Write suitable test cases to ensure the accuracy of the translation
• Integrate these test cases into a suitable CI/CD system to check there are no regressions in the behavior of the Oracle product

What You'll Bring

• Passion for solving real world problems through research and development
• Demonstrable interest in software engineering (Any Linux development experience would be an advantage)
• Programming experience in two or more of C/C++, Java and/or Python
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge in understanding how parsers work would be advantageous

About You

• Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident
• Currently pursuing Bachelors/Master in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
• Able to commit to minimum internship duration of 6 months full time
• Penultimate year students preferred
• Must be a credit bearing internship
