The Senior Technical Sales Engineer - Dewatering Pumps mainly executes the sales development by promoting and selling of Atlas Copco Dewatering Pump equipment solutions portfolio in the Indonesian market. This role is the key point of contact for channel partners and end-customers, answering queries, providing technical advice and demonstrating how to use new products and/or services.
It is responsible for tracking market developments, collaborating together with Business Development Manager and Country Manager, providing inputs for developing strategies, setting up sales plans, and developing and nurturing channel partner and customer relations.
This position reports directly to the Country Manager Indonesia dotted line to Business Development Manager Portable Flow (PAF) and is to be based in Indonesia.

Essential Job Functions

  • Market development
  • Determine direct and indirect customer’s needs and desires by undertaking the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the Atlas Copco’s offering against competitors.
  • Obtain product market share by working with Regional Business Development Manager to develop product sales strategies.
  • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, answering questions and requests.
  • Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and forecasting to support production schedules.
  • Support in sourcing products and services through local / regional service providers as required by business.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Portable Flow divisional marketing and engineering team.
  • Foster partnering and cooperative working relationship with PTS to achieve overall customer satisfaction
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, marketing promotion, and production.
  • Support development of product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume and costing special and customized orders.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by delivering results as per target.
  • Provide regular and timely support to dealer by extending expert advice and consultancies on pumping system design of end-users and ensuring competence development through product trainings.
  • Extensive and continuous implementation of Full Market Potential.
  • Any other duties as directed by management.
  • Business prospecting and sales development
  • Establish new, maintain, and expand existing relationships with customers.
  • Find new sales channels and identify new opportunities.
  • Detect and follow tenders and projects through close relations with key market stakeholders.
  • Engage on projects related on Dewatering Pumps - for consultant approval, accreditations, including but not limited to sourcing of local suppliers, participating in bids and tenders.
  • Negotiate tenders and contracts terms.
  • Generate high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales.
  • Promote advanced technical products to different businesses and organizations.
  • Drive the activity, compile and use Customer Relationship Management tool (SAP Cloud for Customer)
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to various customers.
  • Drive an active watch to keep track of market developments and evolutions.
  • Ensure accurate and regular reporting (Activity, sales forecasting ...)
  • Support marketing by attending trade shows, conferences, seminars, and other marketing events
  • Technical sales support and negotiation:
  • Participate and elaborate technical studies and make technical and commercial quotes
  • Conduct commercial negotiations with the customers to conclude and sign contracts
  • Work in cooperation with other departments as sales support, order & logistic, finance, marketing, service, business development.
  • Ensure follow-up of quotations and sales opportunities
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales support
  • Follow the payments and coordinate actions with the finance team
  • Participate in sales meetings.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Mining Engineering
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and selling industrial equipment, particularly in dewatering pumps industry preferred
  • Technical know-how and marketing knowledge
  • Ability to present technical and commercial ideas and concepts
  • Fluency in English communication (written & spoken) and Bahasa Indonesia language is required
  • Solid knowledge in pumps, technical applications, market intelligence & industry information
  • High level of analytical and organizational skills
  • Willing to travel extensively to deliver desired results
  • Knows how to drive vehicle, with valid driver’s license


Desirable:

  • At least five (5) years working experience in related fields
  • Industrial sales and dealer management and development experience
  • High level contacts and information of pumps industry in Indonesia market
