What You Will Work On

Nike has embraced big data technologies to enable data-driven decisions. We’re looking to expand our Software & Data Engineering team to keep pace. As a Data Engineer - Consumer, you will work with a variety of talented Nike teammates and be a driving force for building first-class data solutions for Nike Technology and its business partners by building and improving data products for consumer behavior events from our experiences.

You will have an opportunity to improve support processes, increase observability, reduce cost, and improve efficiency.

Role Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and incorporate automated unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts
  • Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Work across teams to resolve operational & performance issues
  • Propose solutions and designs to reduce performance issues and improve efficiency
  • Perform cost analysis across data products -Some combination of these qualifications and technical skills will position you well for this role

What You Bring

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or experience in lieu of degree
  • Programming experience in Python or Scala, preferred.
  • Experience building domain-driven Microservices
  • Experience with data modeling in different data stores
  • Experience working with Big Data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hive, etc.
  • Experience working with Big Data streaming frameworks such as Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.
  • Experience working with Big Data streaming services such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with performance and scalability tuning
  • Experience working in a public cloud environment, particularly AWS
  • Familiarity with practices like Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing
