What You’ll Do

Your role with the Reinvention Lab will consist of building on your own creative assets to reach outside the box of education. You will do this through curating a digital zine to feature on The Reinvention Lab’s Instagram.. Your creativity will be key in intergenerational co-creation and marketing our Reinvention Lab zine. This is a part-time position requiring 7-10 hours per week.

  • We are looking for enthusiastic college or high school students who are eager to immerse themselves in a creative environment that values the Reinvention Lab community.
  • Your role will involve actively curating and refining social media content with Reinvention Lab support and feedback. You should be creative, proactive, and excited to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about curating expressive art, and will have a knack for creative writing, content/collage creation, and social media strategy.


A WEEK IN THE LIFE

  • Collaborate and transform our social media content with a zine that gives a new voice to the Reinvention Lab’s Instagram. Help us showcase the diverse voices, perspectives, and achievements within the Reinvention Lab community.
  • Meet weekly with Izzy and Elisabeth to discuss project progress, brainstorm innovative ideas, and align efforts with the Lab's overarching mission and goals.
  • Dive into Slack each day to engage deeply with ongoing team discussions, absorbing the ideas and updates circulating within the Reinvention Lab community.
  • Plan and participate in a variety of immersive community events, from virtual hackathons buzzing with creativity to in-person training sessions that forge meaningful connections among team members.


WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR (7-10 Hours/week)

  • Monitor Slack communications and actively engage by reading and commenting on posts to stay informed about ongoing activities within the Reinvention Lab. Maintain an anonymous Slack account to provide unfiltered feedback and reflections on lab activities, fostering open and critical dialogue within the team. (20%)
  • Participate in product review meetings by attending synchronously or watching asynchronously, then prepare questions, reflections, and insights for discussion with the lab team and advisors. Meet with Izzy as well as Elisabeth for progress check-ins on all assigned tasks and projects. Participate in the project team meetings you are assigned to. (30%)
  • Collaborate and build the Reinvention Lab zine as our Instagram content, including social media posts, and feedback (45%).
  • Assist in logistics for events such as training sessions, virtual hackathons, and spotlight events to facilitate team connection and community engagement. (5%)


Your Experience

  • Strong creative skills as well as in media content creation, including writing social media posts, crafting feedback, and contributing to the production of the Reinvention Lab zine.
  • Ability to engage effectively with digital communication tools, particularly Slack, to stay informed and actively participate in ongoing discussions and updates within the Reinvention Lab community.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to work with multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strength in strategic thinking and collaboration, demonstrated through the ability to brainstorm innovative ideas, contribute to strategic initiatives, and align efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of stakeholders including team members, mentors, and external partners.

Your Compensation

The hourly rate for this role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area.

Tier A: $23.32

Tier B: $25.44

Tier C: $25.70
