We're partnering with a fully remote tech startup, founded in Amsterdam, to find a talented Fullstack Developer. This is an exciting opportunity to be a core part of a company that’s revolutionizing the travel & hospitality industry through a two-sided marketplace.
This startup has a small, dedicated team of about 10 colleagues, and they are on the brink of significant growth, aiming to double in size in the coming months. With over five years of product development and several pivots, they’ve now found strong market signals that indicate scaling success.
About the role:
As a Fullstack Developer, you’ll be pivotal in building and maintaining the platform that connects businesses and travelers. This role leans slightly more towards backend development, but you’ll also be working on the frontend, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. The company’s tech stack is modern and robust, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, remote-first startup environment.
What you’ll do:
- Backend development: Focus on building and optimizing the backend using Node.js and Express. You'll work with databases like PostgreSQL, ensuring the system is scalable and efficient.
- Frontend development: Develop responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript. Ensure that the user experience is smooth, intuitive, and consistent across devices.
- API integration: Design and implement RESTful APIs that power the platform, ensuring secure and efficient data exchange between the frontend and backend.
- Data engineering: Collaborate with the data team to build and maintain ETL pipelines, integrating with AWS services like Lambda and S3 for data processing and storage.
- DevOps: Support the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins and Docker, ensuring smooth deployment processes and system reliability.
- Problem-solving: Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack, from server-side logic to user-facing interfaces.
Notice! We're not looking for someone that's a master of everything in above, but you should be well-rounded and passionated of building stuff, and thrive in an environment where projects may differ from month to month.
Who you are:
- Experienced: 3-5 years of experience in fullstack development, with a strong emphasis on backend technologies.
- Tech-savvy: Proficient in Node.js, Express, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and familiar with AWS services (Lambda, S3).
- Data-oriented: Comfortable working with data engineering tools and concepts, such as ETL pipelines and data storage solutions.
- Problem solver: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the stack.
- Self-starter: Thrives in a remote-first, fast-paced startup environment where you take initiative and ownership of your work.
- Collaborative: Enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and data engineers.
