Hybrid Geospatial Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and manipulate geospatial data from various sources such as vector, raster, or satellite imagery
• Identify patterns, trends, and relationships, by creating and executing machine learning algorithms and statistical models, ensuring the effectiveness of data models through rigorous testing and analysis
• Support in the preparation of the data for visualizations on geospatial platforms as Carto or ArcGIS
• Creation, storage, maintenance, use and dissemination of geospatial data from various sources, including maps, satellite imagery and databases
• Ensure the data is accurate, up-to-date, and properly organized within a Geospatial database. This involves data cleaning, quality assurance, data integration and creation of necessary workflows for geo-enriching data
• Use advance tools for geospatial visualization including programming languages and geospatial packages for the creation of interactive maps
• Support in the data preparation for the creation of geo-enriched dashboards
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and Pyspark
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure platform
• Advanced knowledge of geospatial packages including Sedona, Geomesa, Mosaic, H3...
• Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL and PostgreSQL
• Experience with mapping tools such as Carto, Deck.GL, QGIS and ARCGIS
• Expertise in processing, analyzing, and modeling within enterprise geospatial software applications as well as open-source software packages
• Experience in AWS and Google Cloud will be desirable
• Proven experience writing complex transformations and ingestion pipelines using Data Factory, Databricks and PySpark
• AI/ML knowledge is a must
• Fluent English and good communication skills
