Absolute Pets is looking for a Learning and Development Facilitator to join their team. Absolute Pets is a leading pet care retailer with over 190 stores nationally. We are seeking a highly dynamic facilitator to design learning content and over see in person trainings. The position is based in Cape Town, however national travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Facilitate Learning Programmes
- Develop and design engaging learning content.
- Design and lead engaging learning experiences focused on product knowledge, company policies, and customer service excellence.
- Conduct in person onboarding and ongoing training sessions.
- Ensure optimal functionality and content relevance on digital learning platforms
- Ensure all content is up to date and relevant.
- Maintain and update the annual learning calendar.
- Event Facilitation
- Plan and manage learning related events, including venue setup, supplier engagement, and budget oversight.
- Ensure smooth execution and learner engagement during events.
- Assessment and Feedback
- Evaluate learner performance through assessments and observations.
- Provide constructive feedback to support individual development.
- Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Develop tools to assess the impact of learning initiatives.
- Gather feedback from learners, managers, and customers to refine programmes.
- Continuously adapt learning content to meet evolving business needs.
- Learning Logistics and Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers to source and prepare learning materials.
- Organize venues, catering, and other logistics for in-person sessions.
- Coordinate with operations teams to manage learner attendance and logistics.
- On-the-Job Learning Support
- Conduct store visits to observe and coach employees in real-time, aligning performance with company standards.
- Offer actionable feedback to enhance customer engagement and sales effectiveness.
- Compliance and Administration
- Support SETA submissions by maintaining accurate training records.
- Assist with HR related projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Prior exposure to a training or facilitation role is advantageous.
- Articulate (Storyline) experience is preferred
- Strong ability to design, deliver, and evaluate impactful learning programmes.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and innovative mindset.
- Willingness to travel locally as is required.
- Passion for pet care and retail.
