Introduction: The volleyball program focus is to instruct the sport of volleyball to all participants in grades 7 and 8.
Reports to: Middle School co-curricular coordinators and building associate principal with input from the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach

COACHING DESCRIPTIONS:
Head Coach - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must know and understand the Co-curricular Handbook and any Board policies associated with Co-curricular activities.
- Oversee / organize practices, activities, and schedules.

- Oversee / organize practices, activities, and schedules.
- Oversight and organize equipment to ensure all athletes are properly equipped. Submit item requisitions to associate principal for approval, as needed.
- Submit up to date rosters with player numbers to co-curricular coordinator prior to the first game.
- Responsible for student safety, including documentation of student injury on incident report. Must follow up with school nurse and parent regarding injury immediately following the game or practice.
- Coaching focus — volleyball fundamentals.
- Stay after practice or game until every student has been picked up.
- Conduct preseason parent meetings specific to the respective team. The Middle School Co-Curricular coordinator will do overall preseason meetings.
- Responsible for communication with the high school head coach on philosophy and expectations.
- Responsible for ensuring every student participates in each game.
- Communicate with families around changes in events / practices / activity dates, or any other important information via sports You app.
- Attend all preseason coaching clinics put on by high school coaching staff.
Season Goals: An emphasis is placed on proper techniques. The framework of exercising and personal commitment is stressed as lifelong goals. We encourage the participants to be competitive with the opponent as well as with themselves, trying to improve throughout the season. Emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills.
Certification and Licenses: Background Check and must have a valid driver’s license. Must have CPR and First Aide / AED certification.
Physical Requirements: Shall complete a physical examination and TB Test as required by Wisconsin Statute.
