About this role
The Report Documentation Specialist is responsible for compiling, organizing, reviewing, and submitting accurate and timely documentation and reports for renewable energy construction projects. The role ensures compliance with project milestones, stakeholder requirements, and regulatory frameworks within South Africa’s renewable energy sector.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Track and document milestones, schedules, financial updates, technical data, and compliance checklists.
- Gather and verify data from various project teams (engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, quality).
- Ensure reports are aligned with stakeholder and client expectations.
- Maintain version control and ensure accessibility of all documentation in shared systems (e.g., SharePoint, Document Control Systems).
- Format and submit documents and reports to internal and external stakeholders according to prescribed templates.
- Liaise with engineers, site managers, quality inspectors, and procurement teams to validate report content.
- Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and compliance reports for local regulatory bodies.
- Support end-of-project documentation close-out and handover packs.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
Required skills and education background
- Diploma or degree in Administration, Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in documentation or reporting within engineering or construction sectors, preferably in renewable energy.
- Familiarity with South African renewable energy frameworks such as REIPPPP.
- Expert-level MS Office skills (Word, Excel, especially PowerPoint); proficiency in project documentation systems (e.g., SharePoint).
- Understanding of project management processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with multinational EPC contractors or IPPs.
- Knowledge of South African energy regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, schedules, and technical data.
- Experience in ISO-compliant documentation practices.

Additional Information
