Position Summary

The IT Project Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. This role serves as the central point of contact for project teams, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and deliverables align with organizational goals and compliance requirements. Position located in SW Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  •  Assist in planning project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  •  Coordinate project tasks and resources across multiple teams.
  •  Track project progress and prepare regular status reports.

Documentation & Compliance

  •  Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and meeting minutes.
  •  Ensure IT project activities comply with internal standards and relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001 if applicable).
  •  Support project audits by providing necessary documentation.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  •  Act as liaison between IT teams, business units, vendors, and external partners.
  •  Facilitate project meetings, capture action items, and ensure follow-ups.
  •  Escalate risks, issues, and changes to project leadership.

Resource & Budget Tracking

  •  Monitor project budgets, expenses, and resource allocations.
  •  Support procurement processes for hardware, software, and services.
  •  Coordinate with finance to ensure accurate cost tracking.

Risk & Issue Management

  •  Track risks, issues, and dependencies to minimize project disruptions.
  •  Assist in implementing corrective actions and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  •  2+ years of experience in project coordination, IT project support, or similar role.
  •  Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and security principles.
  •  Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  •  Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet).
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Project Management Professional (PMP), CAPM, or ITIL certification.
  •  Experience supporting IT security or compliance-driven projects (NIST 800-171, CMMC, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.).
  •  Previous work in a government contracting or regulated industry environment.
