Role Summary / Purpose and Scope
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal/Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in London.

- Lead the development, implementation and management of the overall strategy and business plans for the MEP team within the London office including opportunities to drive growth and profit
- Lead the development of project plans and drive implementation which ensures delivery is managed effectively (commercially, technically, financially) and minimises risk to both MAPP and our diverse list of Clients
- Grow a team of MEP engineers/specialists from the London office and integrate this team with the wider MEP team, BC team, and MAPP business as a whole
- Provide mentorship and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team
- Establish and implement a strategic approach to Client engagement and business development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, Clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, contractors, and other specialists, to ensure seamless project integration
- Build a plan to achieve operating and financial plan targets and develop the group to enable a consistent and agreed profit margin and cash flow
- Look to continually enhance our technical edge and our innovation in all the projects we deliver including driving a sustainability focus into our work
- Develop innovative and sustainable mechanical solutions, incorporating net-zero carbon principles, embodied carbon analysis, and circular economy strategies
- Contribute to design work, survey work, and provide technical support to the wider business where needed
- Assist our sustainability team with technical knowledge and design input
- Seek out potential decarbonisation opportunities throughout our current portfolio
- Fulfil the compliance and policy requirements in accordance with MAPP policies and procedures and the relevant legislative framework
- Monitoring statutory and internal compliance, including meeting MAPP policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements

Experience and Salary
15 years experience of working in a similar role
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or alternative similar field
- IEng/CEng accreditation with CIBSE or IMechE or an alternative equivalent body
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of software packages including Revit, Bluebeam
- A good understanding of BIM, SAP and SBEM
- A strong knowledge of UK building regulations & standards
Salary Range (Based on Experience)
£70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
