As a Software Engineer, you will join a team working on Microsoft Dataverse, a foundational platform that securely stores and manages large volumes of data in a cost‑efficient and scalable way. This role contributes to the development of microservices that enable near real‑time insights over data, supporting scenarios across business applications and AI‑powered experiences. You will work alongside engineers who are motivated by solving complex technical problems while maintaining high engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and builds scalable infrastructure components that support AI and data‑driven workloads.

  • Develops and fine‑tunes machine learning or AI models in partnership with senior engineers and technical leads.

  • Implements experimentation and evaluation frameworks to measure model performance and system behavior.

  • Curates datasets and applies data quality practices to support model training and validation activities.

  • Analyzes experimentation results and scorecards to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborates with Product Managers and engineering partners to define datasets aligned to product scenarios and requirements.

  • Leads or contributes to data acquisition efforts by ensuring datasets are properly formatted, documented, and maintained.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
