About the Role
MATTER is looking for a go-to-market wizard who can harness today’s technologies to help us build and nurture our pipeline of corporate partnership opportunities. MATTER partners with pharmaceutical companies, medical associations, foundations, health systems, insurance companies and others to help them harness innovation to advance their goals. Your role will be to identify potential partners and then develop and deploy the tactics we need to initiate business development conversations with them. You will also be responsible for generating collateral to support our business development efforts — presentations, case studies and one-pagers. You will manage our pipeline and oversee the process of finding leads, engaging them, nurturing them, and turning them into real opportunities.
The person in this role will:
- Build targeted prospect lists. Research and identify the right corporate partners for MATTER to approach, and pinpoint the right decision-makers within them.
- Run targeted outreach. Draft and send personalized outreach by email and via LinkedIn, manage follow-up sequences and book introductory meetings for MATTER leadership.
- Prepare targeted materials for outreach. Develop presentations and other materials our team needs to support business development activities.
- Research accounts and prepare for meetings. Develop concise briefs on prospects and partners, covering their strategic priorities, recent news and where MATTER can add value, so every conversation starts informed.
- Connect delivery and growth. Maintain awareness of current programs, priorities and delivery activities so that business development efforts are informed by what MATTER is actively doing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, account management, sales, and/or a related field.
- Understanding of the healthcare industry, including the pharmaceutical industry, payers and providers.
- Demonstrated success building relationships and moving opportunities through a pipeline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and presentation delivery.
- Highly organized, with experience managing a pipeline in a CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Fluency of generative AI tools.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills — able to build polished, compelling partner-facing decks and materials.
- Fluency using LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospecting and relationship building.
- Love of fast-paced, scrappy environments.
