The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue and maximizing sales opportunities at one of our stunning properties. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and collaborating with various departments within the hotel to ensure a seamless guest experience. As a member of the sales team, the Sales Manager will actively seek new business opportunities and manage existing accounts, ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
Position Overview
As Group Sales Manager, you will lead efforts to secure and grow group business, with a focus on corporate, association, and social segments. You will leverage your expertise to build strong client relationships, negotiate contracts, and help ensure group experiences exceed expectations, while contributing to the continued success of The Bostonian Boston.
Key Responsibilities
· Sales Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to secure group business from corporate, association, and social markets.
· Client Acquisition: Identify and target prospective group clients through research, networking, and proactive outreach.
· Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, meeting planners, and organizations.
· Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate contracts that align client needs with hotel revenue goals.
· Event Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including catering, banquets, and operations, to deliver seamless group events and stays.
· Revenue Maximization: Achieve or exceed group sales revenue goals through effective selling and upselling techniques.
· Market Insights: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to maintain a competitive edge.
· Local Engagement: Foster relationships with local businesses and organizations to position The Bostonian Boston as a go-to venue for group events and stays.
Qualifications
· Proven track record in group sales, event planning, or related roles in the hospitality industry
· Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
· Experience with sales systems and tools, such as Salesforce, Delphi, and CVENT
· Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple accounts and events simultaneously
· Knowledge of the Boston market is preferred
· A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales, with a proven track record of success in generating revenue.
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to engage with clients effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software; experience with hotel sales systems is a plus.
