As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a technically proficient and highly motivated Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to drive municipal wastewater pump and grinder sales throughout the west territories.
Position Summary
Vogelsang USA is looking for a results-driven Regional Sales Manager to own and close sales opportunities within an assigned territory. This is a quota-carrying, closing role. The RSM is accountable for converting opportunities into booked orders, regardless of how the opportunity is generated (distributors, marketing, inbound leads, tradeshows, etc.).If you thrive on ownership, accountability, and closing business — and want strong technical support behind you — this role is built for you..
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve growth targets within the west USA municipal wastewater market.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with municipalities, wastewater utilities, engineering consultants, and system integrators.
- Conduct technical consultations, plant visits, and presentations to assess customer needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations highlighting equipment performance, efficiency, and lifecycle benefits.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering, applications, and product management teams to ensure optimal system design and equipment selection.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with municipal end-users and channel partners.
- Track projects from specification through bidding and procurement to close.
- Regularly attend industry trade shows, professional conferences, and regional association meetings (e.g., CWEA, AWWA).
- Travel extensively throughout west USA to support customers and pursue new opportunities.
Requirements
Required Candidate Qualifications
- Residency & Travel: Must currently reside in California, Washington State, or Oregon within convenient access to a major airport.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

- Own and close all sales opportunities within your territory
- Drive deals from qualification to purchase order
- Actively manage distributors and hold them accountable for performance
- Advance opportunities through consistent follow-up, clear next steps, and customer engagement
- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting in Salesforce
- Lead customer, engineer, and distributor conversations focused on moving business forward
- Partner with Application Engineering to deliver technically sound, commercially viable solutions
Preferred Experience and Background
- Proven success in a quota-carrying B2B sales role
- Experience closing deals and managing a sales pipeline
- Comfort owning outcomes and being measured on results
- Experience with distributors or indirect sales channels preferred
- Strong follow-through, urgency, and commercial judgment
- Coachable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a CRM-driven environment
Additional Qualifications
- Strong understanding of pumping systems, fluid dynamics, and process troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles from specification to close.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a regional capacity.
- Comfortable with CRM tools, project tracking, and sales reporting.
