Your role and responsibilities

As a Sales Development Representative specializing in the Data and AI Portfolio, you will be a member of the Digital Sales Team focusing on various IBM solutions, including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Business Analytics, and Watson products. Your role involves supporting the sales process for these data and AI offerings.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Identify New Sales Opportunities: Engage with clients to identify potential sales opportunities for Data and AI solutions, including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Business Analytics, and Watson products.

  • Support Sales Process: Assist in the sales process by providing information and support for Data and AI offerings, helping to drive revenue growth.

  • Collaborate with Sales Teams: Work collaboratively with sales teams to develop and execute sales strategies for Data and AI solutions.

  • Develop Solution Knowledge: Develop knowledge of Data and AI solutions, including IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Business Analytics, and Watson products, to effectively communicate their value to clients.

  • Deliver Solution Information: Deliver information about Data and AI solutions to clients, highlighting their features and benefits.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Proven ability to execute high-volume outbound prospecting, including cold calling, email, and social selling.

  • Strong discovery and qualification skills, with the ability to uncover business challenges and articulate next steps clearly.

  • Experience working in a structured SDR environment with defined KPIs (activity, SQLs, pipeline contribution).

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment, managing multiple outbound cadences simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring clean seller handoffs and accurate opportunity documentation.

  • Coachable mindset with a willingness to learn, apply feedback, and continuously improve outbound effectiveness.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Basic/Foundational Experience in a Sales Development Representative (SDR) role, with a demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify leads, and support pipeline generation.

  • Experience conducting outbound and inbound outreach through phone, email, and social channels.

  • Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Salesloft, or similar platforms).

  • Ability to identify customer pain points, align them to solutions, and effectively communicate value propositions.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills in a fast-paced sales environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and consultative approach.
