The SMT Programmer Split Shift is responsible for converting customer data into the machine programs. They process many formats of customer data, create shapes, maintain libraries, generate programs, create production documentation and ensure programs work as expected on machine. The role works closely with our Production, Engineering and Product teams. Although hours may vary, standard working hours will bridge Day and Swing shifts. This role is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Support production technicians and operators on program debugging bridging both shifts.
  • Process customer data and develop machine programs.
  • Manage program revision control.
  • Create shapes, footprints and CAD objects.
  • Maintain part libraries.
  • Generate production documentation.
  • Both lead and support process improvement efforts with the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Highly proficient computer skills, ability to navigate and learn new software quickly and efficiently.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Customer service orientated (internal and external) with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience programming SMT equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of SMT processes and equipment; Stencil Printing, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, 2D/3D X-Ray.
  • Experience programming SMT equipment, in particular; MPM, Fuji, Koh Young, Mirtec, Dage, Vitrox.
  • Experience using both Valor NPI and Process Prep software suites.
  • Comfortable navigating and modifying Gerbers and other CAD formats.
  • Experience with Python and Databases.
  • Experience in an ISO9001 / AS9100 / ISO13485 certified quality management system.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, and/or ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards.
  • Proficiency in business systems such as MES, PLM, ERP.
