The Senior Accountant role performs all accounting functions related to day-to-day accounting operations, budgeting/forecasting, and all month-end close procedures. This is a hybrid role, we work on site 4 days and remotely 1 day, weekly.
Essential Functions:
Financial Reporting and close activity:
• Analyze GL account activity and account reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end journal entries.
• Ensure all B/S accounts are properly supported.
• Own daily sales reporting for assigned business areas from generation to distribution.
• Maintain and update sales reporting for Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly reports.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, such as Brand Category or Cost Center reporting for the business departments using Essbase and HFM as appropriate.
• Update forecast and help to identify changing trends and possible expense savings.
• Ensure month-end closing reports and any other financial reports assigned are completed accurately and timely.
• Prepare IFRS and GAAP reporting as required.
• Assist with the creation and input of annual budgets into HFM.
• Assist with SOX implementation.
Month-End Reporting:
• Perform the month-end closing process, account reconciliations, and key metric reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal controls as well as the efficiency of procedures and escalate them to the appropriate parties.
SAP/HFM Reporting:
• Manage system data in SAP and HFM
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• BS in Accounting or a similar field
• 3+ years of experience in a large company with a similar corporate environment
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and usage of financial statements
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
• Capacity to perform detailed analysis while understanding big picture implications
• Power user with Excel functions
• Strong systems experience, SAP or similar
Preferred Skills and Industry experience:
• SAP/BI experience
• Hyperion planning experience
• Retail; E-Commerce industry experience
