We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join our team in our Burnaby office.  You will collaborate with Account Producer(s)/Marketer(s) regarding the client needs and recommend solutions with respect to placement, terms, and conditions. This position requires a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a highly paced environment.

What You Will Do:

  • You will play a key role in supporting several teams with account management responsibilities across a diverse range of accounts.
    • You aim for maximum retention of the existing book by providing exceptional client service. 
    • You will organize and attend internal renewal strategy meetings and aim to work on renewals 90 days prior to expiry.
    • You will attend external client meetings as required. 
    • You will respond promptly to client emails and telephone calls and document all correspondence appropriately in EPIC.
    • You will ensure that all client services documents are prepared and in a timely fashion (i.e., Summaries of Insurance, Client Proposals, Invoicing Underwriting Submissions); • 
    • You will maintain monthly expiry lists including following up on project expiries. 
    • You will monitor abeyances for outstanding information. 
    • You will update spreadsheets such as Statement of Values and Contractors Equipment. 
    • You correspond and send documents to clients (using company templates). 
    • You will be the liaison with marketing on placements, renewals, and midterm policy changes. 
    • You will manage the complete brokering process on small mid-size policies within the book. 
    • You will review leases, contract documents, and provide coverage advice to clients. 
    • You will provide bid-costing for clients prior to tender closings and recommend coverage. 
    • You will ensure that all certificate requests are completed correctly and in a timely fashion. 
    • You will review policy documents and/or quotes and identify coverage gaps and cross sell other lines of business when needed.
    • You will recommend additional coverage to clients (using coverage checklist). 
    • Microsoft Excel is essential, as the role requires the ability to organize and incorporate terms accurately and efficiently.
    • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as needed.

The Marketing responsibilities in your new role include and are not limited to: 

  • You will play a key role in supporting several teams by managing placement responsibilities across a diverse range of accounts.
    • You will ensure that all Premium finance contracts are quoted/issued as requested by the Client. 
    • You will follow up with the Producer and work with Clients on accounts receivables. 
    • You will follow corporate policies and procedures. 
    • You will continue to maintain education credits for licensing. 
    • Other miscellaneous duties and special projects as required. 
    • You will be the liaison with Producers and their Account Managers to discuss client needs and make recommendations regarding terms and conditions obtained. 
    • You will assist with developing innovative marketing processes for tough placement risks. 
    • You will provide on-going servicing as required, negotiating mid-term changes with Insurers. 
    • You will follow policies and procedures, including security and quality procedures, as currently set out and as amended from time to time. 
    • You will be current on new products, insurance council regulations, coverage, and market trends by attending seminars and reading relevant written material. 
    • You will follow up with documentation from insurers. 
    • You will function as the primary technical support to staff for policy coverage review and company underwriting information needs. 
    • You will attend Insurer and Industry functions. 
    • Microsoft Excel is essential, as the role requires the ability to organize and incorporate terms accurately and efficiently.
    • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as needed. 

Who You Are:

  • You have a Level 2 Insurance License.
  • You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ Commercial Lines experience; construction experience is an asset.
  • CAIB, CIP, FCIP or CRM designation would be considered an asset along with university and/or College education. 
  • You are a self-starter, who is highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Applied Epic.
  • You have a friendly professional demeanor with a good sense of business acumen.
  • You have a natural ability to thrive in a team environment and work well with others.
  • You are driven to success and can represent our brand and your own cohesively and confidentially.
  • Excellent organizational Skills
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
  • Punctual with strong attendance history

COMPENSATION

  • The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.
