Required Qualifications

Role Overview: 

The Overwatch Coach for UNF Esports will be responsible for leading and developing the university’s competitive Overwatch team. This includes strategic planning, team coordination, and fostering a positive and communicative team environment. The coach will oversee scrimmages, VOD reviews, and tournament matches, ensuring the team is prepared and competitive.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and implement effective team strategies and compositions.

  • Facilitate clear and respectful communication among team members.

  • Organize and manage team schedules, including practices, scrimmages, and tournament participation.

  • Conduct VOD reviews to analyze gameplay and provide constructive feedback.

  • Mentor student players to improve individual and team performance.

Required Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of Overwatch gameplay, including current meta and popular strategies.

  • Familiarity with team compositions and role synergies.

  • Techniques for fostering effective in-game communication.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Patience and adaptability are essential when working with student athletes.

  • Ability to provide feedback constructively and encouragingly.

  • Foster a respectful and supportive environment by upholding clear boundaries between coach and student, ensuring all interactions remain focused on skill development, teamwork, and personal growth.
