Job title & brief description: The VP of Sales and Marketing will work with multi-discipline teams to support the service and manufacturing sales through the entirety of the U.S. This role will oversee sales directors for both new product manufacturing and service/repair and their direct reports. This role maintains sales metrics for each business unit and works with sales directors to create individual sales goals/metrics for regional sales representatives. This position is responsible expanding Setco’s U.S. based accounts and business through targeting new customers, industries, and product lines. Additionally, this position will work with Engineering and Operations to ensure that customer new product applications are developed timely and efficiently, while maintaining customer service activities and deadlines.

 

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years’ experience in selling machine tool components, spindles, slides, or related industrial products.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Salesforce or other related CRM.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of precision machinery, machine tool components, electronics, motors, drives and control systems, basic vibration and balancing, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Requires minimum supervision, except in areas which are of a unique aspect.
  • Understanding and application of standard project management methodologies.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Able to coordinate multiple projects at one time and maintain project schedules.
  • Expected to work from the office approximately 75% of the time to support planning and strategic initiatives; Expected to work with sales directors and regional representatives 25% of the time on tactical sales activities.

Primary Tasks:

  • Oversee and consult on the development of sales and marketing initiatives for service/repair and new product manufacturing business units.
  • Expand Setco's market share by developing sales plans focused on new customer acquisition and growth of existing key/target accounts.
  • Meet with key/target accounts to initiate pricing changes and rebate programs; focus on business growth of said key/target accounts.
  • Oversee customer service functions to ensure positive customer experience and communications.
  • Develop and improve existing sales procedures to ensure better customer focus and sales proposal process.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM, Zoominfo, and other selling tools to manage sales performance and report results to senior leadership.
  • Identify & develop concepts that provide unique solutions to applications that provide a competitive selling advantage.
  • Represent and promote Setco during visits to customer sites, exhibitions, and during customer visits to Setco facilities; maintain a presence at key customers so that they are familiar with Setco product, services, and capabilities.
  • Maintain project files in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Evaluate and coach Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service personnel; work with directors to ensure adequate staffing levels and territory coverage.
