Role and Responsibilities:
- Independently perform 1-3 NERC standard engineering analyses
- Determine applicable standards and engineering analysis required for each project within portfolio.
- Work with Compliance Managers to ensure project RFI is correct, and deliverables are appropriate.
- Support Compliance Managers in evaluating compliance, developing corrective action plans, and supporting regulator communications regarding compliance issues.
- Track project timelines to plan for regular reviews and ensure client deliverables are ready on time.
- Perform or review various NERC Compliance studies: FAC-008, PRC-005, PRC-019, PRC-024, PRC-025, PRC-026, PRC-027, MOD-025, MOD-026, MOD-027 and MOD-032.
- Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSS/e, PSCAD, Aspen, ETAP, and PSLF.
- Review engineering studies for new and emerging technologies such as inverters, or Battery Energy Storage Systems, which may require interaction with equipment vendors to complete the analyses.
- Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Support client calls as necessary
- Follow standard operating procedures; provide feedback on procedures and help improve the process.
- Drive resolution of problems of medium complexity and team-based scope.
- Represent the team in routine communications with clients and within the organization.
- Coach and train newer team members on job specific roles and processes.
- Drive small team improvement initiatives.
Required Qualification & Education:
- Working knowledge in Compliance & Risk Engineering
- Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills
- University Degree with 2-4 years of experience in the domain. Masters/Graduate degree and 0-2 years experience in domain.
Experience Required:
- 2-4 years experience in domain
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years actively supporting compliance engineering for NERC programs
- Experience in customer service
- Process improvement experience
