We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Team Manager to lead operations at our Defence Logistics Centre in Samlesbury. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a high-performing warehouse operation that meets key performance indicators, exceeds customer expectations, and upholds the highest standards of quality and compliance.

This role has a strong focus on Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001, and is ideal for candidates with experience in managing teams within regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the warehouse team to achieve daily and weekly KPIs.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to Health and Safety across all operations.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Manage and maintain accurate process flows, work instructions, and quality documentation in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ensure all staff are trained, inducted, and supported with ongoing development plans.
  • Monitor and manage performance, attendance, timekeeping, and sickness levels.
  • Provide a responsive and professional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a key holder and ensure site security and compliance.
  • Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders across Wincanton and the wider business.
  • Champion quality assurance and compliance, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics team management.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong operational knowledge and project management experience.
  • IT literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and warehouse systems.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and inspire teams.
  • Experience in regulated or defence-related environments is desirable.
