WECU is seeking a Vice President, Branch Banking to join our Retail Management department located in Bellingham, WA. The Vice President, Branch Banking is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the performance, growth, and operational excellence of WECU branch banking. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional member service, drives branch profitability, and aligns retail operations with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and long-term strategic goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the branch banking strategy to support organizational growth and member experience.
- Lead initiatives to enhance branch performance, product penetration, and service delivery.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align branch goals with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with business development and marketing to drive member acquisition.
- Oversee daily operations of all retail branches, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as needed.
- Lead development and implementation of a branch of the future model. Meeting the needs of our membership, and including services such as, but not limited to, traditional branch, cashless, ATM pods, and interactive teller machines.
- Lead, mentor, inspire, and develop Directors, branch managers and retail staff to foster a high-performance culture.
- Promote employee engagement, professional development, and succession planning.
- Champion a member-centric culture focused on delivering personalized financial solutions.
- Ensure consistent service standards across all retail locations with a strong focus on DVCL.
- Address escalated member concerns and resolve complex issues.
- Manage branch banking budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and cross-selling initiatives.
- Analyze market trends and member needs to inform product development and pricing strategies.
- Ensure adherence to all banking regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Partner with compliance and risk teams to mitigate operational and reputational risks.
- Build a culture of collaboration where retail branches collaborate with peer departments to achieve best practices in the delivery of financial services and strive to provide superior member experience.
- Follows WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in retail banking, including leadership roles.
- Proven track record of driving branch performance and member satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, financial products, and operational best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, develop strategies, and make sound business decisions.
- Experience with digital banking transformation and omnichannel service delivery preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and banking software platforms preferred.
- Change management and organizational development expertise preferred.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is from $148,964. To $210,301. per year.
