Position
This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define data requirements, ensuring data quality and reliability, implementing data governance practices, and staying current with emerging data technologies to deliver actionable insights for data-driven decisions
 
What You’ll Do
  • Design and implement robust, scalable backend systems and IoT pipelines.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure supporting ML workflows, lakehouse architectures, and real-time processing.
  • Develop, consume, and optimize event-driven architectures using enterprise messaging patterns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade software solutions.
  • Support data visualization efforts by integrating backend services with React-based frontends.
  • Use AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
  • Contribute to architectural outcomes and platform evolution.
  • Drive continuous delivery and integration practices across the team.

  • Languages: Go, Python, C#/.NET
  • Data & Infrastructure: Trino, lakehouse architectures, SQL/NoSQL databases, time-series databases
  • Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, Kinesis, enterprise messaging patterns
  • Architecture: Event-driven systems, caching technologies, real-time processing
  • DevOps: Containerized development, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code
  • Frontend Collaboration: React (for supporting data visualizations and dashboards)
  • AI Tools: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted coding platforms
 
 

Who You Are and What You Bring

  • BA/MA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering
  • Excellent Python and SQL Skills
  • 2+ Years with React
  • Strong understanding of high veracity, scalable system design, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experienced in RESTFul development, testing, and standards
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments (Kanban/Scrum)
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Desired But Not Required

  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Familiarity with ML infrastructure and data science workflows
  • Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and telemetry platforms

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $103,000 – $161,500. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location.  The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
