Reports To: Registered Dental Hygienist / Practice Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and reliable Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will support our dental hygienists in delivering high-quality oral care to patients, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, and providing an exceptional patient experience.

Essential Functions:
Key Responsibilities:
Assist dental hygienists during patient procedures, including passing instruments and suctioning.
Prepare operatory for hygiene procedures: disinfect surfaces, set up trays, and ensure all instruments are sterilized.
Seat and prepare patients for treatment, taking initial vitals and reviewing medical history.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the practice management system.
Sterilize and maintain hygiene instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
Monitor inventory and restock hygiene supplies as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices as instructed by the hygienist or dentist.
Ensure patient comfort throughout their visit and assist with patient flow.
- Follow all safety and infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Dental Assistant certification preferred (state-specific licensing may apply).
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
Prior experience in a dental office is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate.
Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a bonus.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
